Artesanías Medina nació en el año 1948 a manos de Don José Medina García. Comenzarían su andadura con la compra de un telar manual, fabricando tejido alpujarreño, que se lo revendía a Artegran. Con el tiempo, compró más telares manuales, éstos estarían colocados en las casas de los propios trabajadores. En un par de años ya confecciona sus propios artículos y los vende directamente a las tiendas: bolsos, ponchos, cortinas, cojines, etc.
